Canon 1Dx Mark II To Be Announced In April 2016
Canon 1D X Mark II will be ready for shipments early in April 2016, unless anything major happens. Canon Rumours mentioned this a while back and it looks like the plans haven’t changed significantly.
The only thing that may have changed is the exact date the camera is announced. For now the latest info is about a February or March announcement for the 1DX successor. With the Nikon’s recent announcement of their new flagship – the Nikon D5, which will be in the stores in March 2016 there is no particular reason to announce it right away. However we are pretty confident that we will hear about an announcement before the D5 starts actually shipping to customers.
According to our sources the current planned price for the 1D X Mark II is around $6000, but that might change insignificantly depending on currency strength at the time of announcement, but we thing it will definitely be cheaper than the Nikon D5’s price tag of around $6500.
The specification that we have confirmation about is that it will definitely record 4K video, just like its competitor – the Nikon D5.
